Questions and answers
Plain answers about the work, the houses around Cherry Hill, scheduling and what a visit involves.
Which towns does AMG Duct Cleaning Cherry Hill serve?
Cherry Hill and nearby towns in Camden County and Burlington County: Haddonfield, Voorhees, Haddon Township, Collingswood, Pennsauken, Gloucester Township, Haddon Heights, Mount Laurel, Moorestown, Evesham and Maple Shade. If you are close by but not on that list, ask, and you will get a straight answer about coverage.
When can I reach you?
The phone is answered 8 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Saturday. The request form on the site works at any hour, and replies go out during open hours.
Is the estimate free, and can I get a price over the phone?
The estimate is free and carries no obligation. It is given after someone has seen the system, because a one-furnace ranch, a split-level with tall risers and a townhome with an attic air handler are different jobs, so no price is quoted over the phone.
How do I know whether my ducts need cleaning?
The EPA points to three reasons: visible mold growth in the ducts or on the equipment, rodents or insects in the system, and dust and debris heavy enough to blow out of the registers. Around here the usual triggers are a renovation, a newly bought house with no service record, a shedding pet or a filter that turns gray within weeks.
How long can a dryer vent go between cleanings?
Run length and laundry volume set the pace. Long townhome runs and vents that exit through the roof clog sooner than a short basement run through a side wall. Loads that need a second cycle, a hot laundry room or a flap that barely opens outside all say it is due.
Do you work in townhomes, condos and apartment buildings?
Yes, across the attached communities of Voorhees, Mount Laurel, Evesham and Maple Shade among others. Tell us about attic or roof access and any association rules when you book, and a property manager can put several units into one visit.
Can you work on a chimney in Haddonfield's historic district?
Yes. Exterior changes there, roofing included, need the borough's Certificate of Appropriateness, so repairs that would change how a chimney looks are planned with that review in mind. Questions about a specific project go to the borough's zoning officer, and the written estimate describes exactly what is proposed.
Can you get rid of mold on my basement walls or in the attic?
No. Our mold work covers the ducts plus the coil, drain pan, blower and plenums they connect to, and it ends there. Growth in walls, ceilings or framing goes to a remediation contractor, and you will be told if that is what the crew sees.
Will duct cleaning help with allergies or asthma?
It is house maintenance, not a medical treatment. It clears dust and debris out of the ducts, and the EPA's guidance is that no health benefit from it has been proven. Questions about symptoms belong with a doctor.
What is an HVAC UV light for?
Keeping the wettest part of the system cleaner. The lamp sits in the air handler and lights up the cooling coil and its drain pan, where growth starts. EPA guidance says home units do much less against spores in moving air and should be paired with filtration, so treat the lamp as upkeep on a clean, dry system rather than a fix on its own.
Do you work for businesses and property managers?
Yes. Offices, medical and dental practices, storefronts and managed residential buildings are scheduled around their hours, and a certificate of insurance can be provided before the visit when a landlord or building asks for one.
Is AMG licensed and insured?
Yes, licensed and insured, and veteran owned too. The company's New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor registration is 13VH13654300.
What should I do before the crew arrives?
Make room around the furnace or air handler, the dryer and the fireplace, and move anything stored in front of return grilles. Keep pets in a closed room while registers are open. If parking or building access has rules, share them when the visit is confirmed.
