Dryer Vent and Duct Service for Maple Shade, NJ Homes and Apartments
Maple Shade is a compact township of under four square miles, crossed by Route 38, Route 41 and Route 73, and about half of its households rent. AMG Duct Cleaning works its apartment complexes, duplexes and postwar houses from Cherry Hill, across the South Branch of Pennsauken Creek.

This Burlington County township began as Chester Township in 1688, was incorporated in 1798 with New Jersey's first townships, and gave up land to form Cinnaminson in 1860 and Moorestown in 1922 before voters renamed what remained Maple Shade in 1945. It counted 19,980 residents at the 2020 census. Cherry Hill and Pennsauken lie across the creek in Camden County, and the Turnpike and Interstate 295 sit outside the township line, a short run up Route 73.
The township's housing plan describes two building booms, one in the 1950s and a bigger one in the 1970s, and Census estimates show fewer than half the homes are detached houses. The rest are apartments, duplexes and townhouses, many in complexes of ten units or more. That housing calls mostly for dryer vent cleaning, air duct cleaning and air duct repair, and in rentals the owner or the property manager is usually the one who books.
Apartment complexes and their laundry rooms
In the older complexes, laundry is often a shared room in each building, while newer or renovated units put a stacked laundry pair behind closet doors. Both end the same way, in a duct to an exterior hood, and in a shared room one hood per machine lines the wall. Buildings from the 1970s boom are about fifty years old now, and some of their original dryer runs may never have been opened.
Dryer vent cleaning for a complex is planned with the management office building by building, and each run and hood is logged. Where a closet dryer vents through a long, crooked run or a foil connector, dryer vent installation replaces the run with smooth-wall rigid duct, and the whole job is scheduled around the tenants' hours.
Closet air handlers and electric heat
About one Maple Shade household in four heats with electricity, which in an apartment usually means a heat pump or an electric furnace in a closet with a single return grille. When a filter goes unchanged between tenants, the coil face and the return collect a mat of dust.
Cleaning a unit covers the return, the supply runs and the coil face, with the drain pan checked for standing water. Air duct repair reseals the closet plenum where it leaks around the unit, and air duct installation replaces a run crushed during a renovation.
Houses from the 1950s boom
The detached houses from the first boom are small and plain, many with the furnace in a basement or crawl space, ductwork that has outlived several furnaces and a masonry chimney for the heating flue.
Chimney cleaning clears that flue of soot and debris, and chimney repair fixes the crown, the cap and loose mortar at the top. Where the furnace now vents through a plastic pipe in the side wall, we check what still uses the chimney and whether the flue suits it.
Pennsauken Creek and the 2004 record
The South Branch of Pennsauken Creek forms much of the township's line with Camden County, and in July 2004 its gage at the Route 41 bridge in Maple Shade recorded a new peak of record. Ground-floor apartments and basements near the creek can hold humidity long after a storm.
Growth inside the duct runs or on the equipment comes off during mold treatment and removal, once the dampness is fixed. Where a coil stays wet all summer, HVAC UV light installation adds a lamp for the months between cleanings.
Working with owners, managers and tenants
Mount Laurel and Moorestown border the township on its Burlington side. For rentals we set the visit with the manager and the tenant, and the report goes to the owner; a duplex owner can have both units done in one trip, each system written up on its own.
Owners and managers can reach AMG 8 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Saturday. We are veteran owned, licensed and insured for this work, and each unit or house gets a free estimate after its walk-through.

Questions and answers
How do you handle dryer vents across a whole apartment complex?
Building by building. We agree on the units and the access with the office, clean each run and hood in turn, and hand back a log of what we found at every unit, including any foil connector or crushed run.
The closet around our heat pump is always dusty. Where is that dust coming from?
Usually from the return side. A closet unit with a loose filter or a leaking plenum pulls dust from the closet itself. The return grille and the coil face get cleaned, and the plenum is sealed where it leaks.
Our 1950s house has a masonry chimney but no fireplace. Why clean it?
Because the furnace or the water heater may still vent through it. Soot, debris and a failing cap can restrict that flue, so we clean and inspect it and check the cap and the crown.
Does the tenant need to be home for the visit?
Someone has to let the crew in and clear the laundry closet and the air handler closet. For rentals we set the window with the manager and the tenant, and the owner receives the findings.
